Mahogany Stick Barometer by William Campbell, Hamburg & London

Early 19th. C.. Solid mahagony stick and cistern cover, the display framed with onlaid carved strips. The glazed display is a fine drawing on white painted paper with two scales "Pariser Zoll" and "Londoner Zoll" in english and german language. from "Very Dry" to "Earthquake". Height: 104 cm (41 Inch). 

Condition: The pediment has damages, the short strip to the right side is missing. The column contains obviously the full mercury, as it works exactly. The surface has no scratches and is in good order, but removing the cistern cover it shows the original laquer surface, which looks still as new laquered. So the mahagony surface should possibly get polished. As this barometer contains a big mercury filling, shipping is only offered with empty column. The mercury could get shipped in a separate and safe closed glass. 

The barometer column actually is nearly empty, shipping is only offered with empty column.
